Since it was reported that the House of Representatives’ Special Committee on Constitution Review received a proposal to change Nigeria’s name to the United African Republic, singer Naira Marley says he wants to sing the new anthem as Nigerians have continued to react funnily to it.
Some had wondered if the country’s anthem and pledge would also be changed as the proposed name won’t really fit into the current national anthem.
This has prompted controversial rapper Naira Marley to volunteer to help in that regard.
Via Twitter, the ‘Coming’ crooner said that he would sing the new national anthem if the proposal to change Nigeria’s name to the United African Republic is successful.
Omo Na me go sing the new national Anthem for UAR. 🇳🇬

Timi Dakolo was also left in confusion as he wondered what he would do with his song ‘Great Nation’.
Now that you people are planning to change Nigeria’s name to United African Republic, What will I do with My Great nation song?!
Una Dey stress me too much.
