Seven-year-old girl seeks N15m heart disease treatment

For little miss Anuoluwapo Moses to live a normal life like children in her age, she will need N15 million to treat a heart disease. She was born with a congenital heart ailment in 2013.

Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Moses, who hail from Kogi State, said they have spent all they had since 2014 on the ailment and had visited a number of hospitals in search of a solution.

A medical report signed by Dr. O. J Sokunbi, of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on Anuoluwapo, in February 2020, showed that she was suffering from symptomatic congenital heart disease.
Her parents survive as carpenter and hairstylist, respectively. Apparently, they cannot afford to foot the bill to save their child. They are calling on kind-hearted Nigerians across the globe, corporate bodies and the governor of to come to their aid in footing the medical bill.

Her said that doctors have recommended she should be urgently flown abroad for a heart surgery.

Moses said: “Every passing day, her health continues to degenerate. My daughter could not continue her schooling as a result of her poor health.

“Anuoluwapo’s condition has overwhelmed my family and I now go cap in hand begging to survive. We only hope in God to ultimately heal our daughter and use whoever he wills to assist us financially. It has been tough for all of us in the family.

“Her pains torment me. Most times, she does not at night.”

According to him, about N15 million is required to carry a heart surgery on Anuoluwapo. So far, the family has not realised anything near the amount. Sustaining her routine medical care is already a burden to the Moses family.
