Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria has said that “efforts are in high gear to clear the outstanding stipends for exited Batch A and B Beneficiaries before onboarding the new Batch C beneficiaries”.
As seen below, the Minister disclosed this on her verified micro-blogging account Twitter, Sunday evening.
Empiregist understands that it is now 76 days since beneficiaries of the famed N-Power programme last received their monthly stipend of ₦30,000.
This online news medium gathered from several genuine beneficiaries of the scheme that the last stipend they received was for the month of May, which was paid on the 1st of June 2020 upwards.
At the time, it was the first time since Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs took over the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) reigns that stipends will be paid promptly.
Farouq has been mute regarding when June and July stipends of the exited N-Power beneficiaries will be settled.
However, With this latest update, the erstwhile beneficiaries can heave a slight sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, there are massive calls from the exiting N-Power beneficiaries for the Federal Government to retain them – instead of dispatching them.
Furthermore, some of them moan that the mooted exit package being proposed by the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry is vague.
