Ekiti Police command deny rumor of armed Fulani invasion

Ekiti State Police Command has denied the rumor that armed fulani invaded the Shasha market of the state.

The Ekiti State Command who disclosed this in a press statement replied to the attention of a fabricated story that a truck loaded with Hausa/Fulani all armed with Ak-47 riffles and other weapons entered Shasha market.

The command affirmed that the story is spread by enemies of the society to cause unnecessary panic and further stated that the truck loaded with bags of beans, dried fish, onions and other items from Sokoto heading to Akure stopped at Shasha Market Junction, Ado-Ekiti to offload five bags of fish which was accustomed and cleared by Amotekun personnel.

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Tunde Mobayo pledged its commitment to working with relevant bodies to ensure safety of of lives and properties. The command further implored the public to disregard the rumor as it lacks iota of truth.
