Akure Amole Festival: we are still practicing traditions that restricts commodities at point of emergency-Fasipe

The Amole festival stopping shops and sellers of essential commodities and other services from trading today has made Oluyemi Fasipe conclude that we are still practicing traditions that restrict essential commodities at point of emergency.

The Endsars activist and social media influencer, made a statement on his social media expressing dissatisfaction at the Amole festival denying a certain medical doctor in approached pharmacy stores since morning while attending to an emergency.

The traditional ruler of land, Deji of Akure, Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi had ordered the closure of all shops across the city due to celebration of the annual Amole festival.

It was gathered that only banks, petrol stations and agencies were excluded from the king’s order.

while observing the city noticed that the markets such as; Oja ,Erekesan, Odo Ikoyi, Isolo, Isikan, Oba ile and Arakale were deserted in compliance with the order.

Our correspondent also observed that there was no usual traffic gridlock at -Adesida road as social and economic activities was banned for the day.

Meanwhile, traders flouted the order were attacked by some hoodlums who carted away with their goods. It was also reported that some hoodlums blocked road and looted a bus which was loaded with food stuffs and household materials.
